Q:It's funny how you use a lot of faraway shots and expect background characters in a long-running anime to be perfectly drawn. The same problems exists in every weekly anime over 100 episodes. Granted, some of these are legitimately bad, but you're really grasping at straws.
First, go read our mission statement. Second, this blog is a group blog that is run by 5 different members, and receives numerous submissions, so forgive us if not every single thing posted to this blog meets your standards for “legitimately bad.”
Besides, there’s not exactly much need to “grasp” for anything. The anime gives us more than enough to work with. Remember the incredibly dramatic and important moment when the Blackbeard Pirates appeared at Marineford? This is what that scene looked like in the manga. Now here’s how it looked in the anime. Whether it’s action scenes that look like this, or a woman’s body looking like this, it’s not hard to find things the anime does a less than stellar job with. Should we add some scenes of actual animation to the mix?

And yes, everybody knows that other long running anime series often feature frequent corner cutting and low quality art and animation. Many short, 1 season anime feature the same thing. But you what doesn’t suffer from this? The One Piece manga. If “grasping at straws” is what it takes to convince a few more people to move away from the anime and give the manga that Oda himself gets 4 hours of sleep a day in order to create, then I’m happy to do it.
